“The worst thing you can do to the environment is make a film about it”

- Louie Psihoyos, Director of The Game Changers

OWNING
OUR
IMPACT

Every flight, light, camera battery, and hard drive we use has a footprint. As a nonprofit studio dedicated to creating films that expose the cost of industrial animal agriculture and inspire a shift toward plant-based living, we also recognize that filmmaking itself consumes energy and resources.

We calculate the emissions generated by our productions, from travel and accommodations to on-set energy use and data storage, and we treat them not as an afterthought but as part of the story we’re telling.

Offsetting and Regeneration

Each year we offset our studio’s total footprint through verified reforestation and conservation initiatives.

  • Eden Reforestation Projects: We donate annually to offset our flight emissions from filming.

  • Cool Earth: A recurring donation supporting indigenous rainforest protection.

  • Katingan Mentaya Project: A large-scale peatland restoration program in Borneo.

Measuring Impact Beyond Carbon

The true sustainability of our work lies in its ripple effect. Every person who rethinks their diet or lifestyle after watching one of our films reduces far more carbon than we could ever emit in the making of it.

We’re developing a long-term framework to measure film impact, quantifying behavior change, media reach, and policy influence, to ensure that the positive outcomes of our stories outweigh their environmental cost by thousands of times.

Continuous Improvement

We are committed to:

  • Using renewable energy where possible on set and in post-production. All of our gear is housed in a 100 percent solar-powered facility using solar electricity for charging.

  • Limiting international travel by empowering local film crews across the Global South.

  • Publishing annual sustainability updates as our studio grows.
